Commanche Dawn
You've probably seen hundreds of tank battles duelling against each other, but what about air combat? Fancy drift through the wind, fire loads of missiles against the target and hope to survive the onslaught. Well look now further, because the enemy has a mind of its own! That's purely driven by one goal - to wipe you out its air space, so its a race against time to kill or be killed. Upgrade your war machine for bigger guns and faster engines to compete with increasely stronger enemies!
Item Description:
A golden piece to to rival Olle Isaksson's Armored Attack with a combination of weapons, vehicles and upgrades to play once unleashed into the dueling arena. The game concept is familiar across all platforms and Armored Attack seemed to be simply ajnd querky once you go past its rough edges of presentation and interface design. What intrigued me was the AI seemed challenging. Generally a positive reference to evolve this projects into a new level.
Currently a work in progress, because I find it both embarrassing in unpfrofessional to publish an unfinished or rushed games. Especially to hosting sites excepting my own to redeem visitor curiousity in checking what's going on. Any way, enough of my banter, the full game is in works and will look try to apply some SFX too. Only made it from scratch last week...
25/04/09 Progress update:
Game engine currently complete redevelopment because of inconsistant programming behind the unit upgrades: player movement linked with level attributes proved to be limiting in gameplay. The garage section will be reimagined will a code-based load & save feature. All will be revealled in good time. Overall game navigation will be revised too.
Further work on it has been done with a workshop menu for applying upgrades to the chopper and its still a little rough on the edges, but it'll soon be sorted out. Also quickly outfitted a level select menu for various difficulty settings.
Game Save Test
This sample program is a generic demonstration of how to load the player's game save progress without relying on a local directory. Basically a single serial key can contain all the vital information: avatar credits, statistics, currency and gameplay progress. So in this case, it is randomised into a combination of both numbers and letters. The top row of black boxes in the centre of the circle is your user input to load the game progress and press the LOAD button on the right. Whilst keying the press Tab to jump the next box segment. The second one below is the display the save-game code after pressing SAVE, for future occassions in typing it in to continue playing the game. The listed items on the top-right are the outline pieces which put the Commanche Dawn project together. This will be be place somewhere within the interface navigation. If you notice the circular bargraph lines in the background, well its just for decorative purpose when processing the numbers. More designs will follow in future. So please, press a load of numbers and valid letters from the list and see what happens... |
